1. You're wandering some woodsy mountain areas alone and maybe you get lost or hurt or some such. Next thing you know, you're set up in a little camp with a fire going, it's dark, it's pretty damn cold, and there's a guy definitely not dressed for the weather in just a long, loose tunic and trousers, with long black hair tied back in a low ponytail. I mean, that's probably because you're wearing his winter cloak as a blanket, but.
2. MAN WOULDN'T IT BE COOL TO SEE A DRAGON. They're pretty rare nowadays, but hey, look, there's one sleepily sunning itself on a pile of rocks like a big dumb lizard. It's pretty, if a bit small at maybe the side of a draft horse, all sleek black scales with some iridescence when the light hits it just so, its nearly opaque webbed wings spread out to soak up the warmth. Those're some sharp teeth and claws though, huh.

[ sorry she's completely incapable of not being cryptic...
starting to pat herself down like she's checking her pockets for something ]

[ making a triumphant noise under her breath as she finds the right pocket in her coat and pulls out a brushpen and a strip of wide white ribbon ]

What is this...?

[ uncapping the pen with her teeth, grinning ]

...the standard "protection from evil" is probably a good enough container for her intent, though, and so she scribbles that out before shaking the ribbon out to make the ink dry faster. Callum might notice her hair fluffing up and an odd, heavy feeling in the air as she does so, something like the staticky feeling before a particularly intense thunderstorm. ]
If you wear this, you won't be seen as "living." I don't recommend doing so around anyone you don't want to scare, but if someone is looking for you and you hold still, it'll be much harder for them to notice you.

[ he sounds just a little doubtful, but what does he know about magic. ]

casting him an amused side-eye before chirping— ]
It can be. Mm— this will be a little noisy, though. My apologies.
[ —and then letting an arc of electricity lick up from her feet and crawl over her body to crackle out at the end of ribbon. ]

[ this is a lie. the lightshow part of that was literally just to show off. ]

[ he still seems incredibly unsure but. Trusting this anyway. ]

[ holding it out for him ]
Do you want me to tie it so you only have to slip it on, or can you manage?

[ he reaches for the ribbon with one clawed hand.
Then abruptly tanks away with a pained hiss as if sparks against hoa scales, writes wide with alarm. Protection from evil indeed. ]
no subject
[ excuse her? she did not authorize that???
yanks the ribbon in the opposite direction, hesitates for a bare half-second, and then crumples it. no. ]
I'm so sorry, I didn't mean— are you all right?
no subject
he just looks pretty startled and a little worried, curling up tighter, catlike, his tail around his legs. ]
Oh-- oh, I thought-- you said it would help...?
no subject
It was supposed to. I think— I don't usually write these out. I must have chosen the wrong words to use for you.
[ she's not stupid, after all. ]

[ taking human form after a long moment of thought-- or almost human, anyway, his third eye hidden by his long hair, much of which hangs in his face, and his pointed ears. No other dragony bits to be seen. ]

I don't consider it a waste of time— rather, I'm genuinely more unhappy that I've apparently wasted yours.
